What is the difference between Synthetic and Conventional oil

Oil in your car engine works a lot like the blood in our veins: it keeps our system going. 

Synthethic Oil Vs Conventional Oil

1. Synthetic oil is designed to be more effective at resisting breakdown. 

2. It withstands higher temperatures, and flows better in cold temperatures than conventional motor oil. 

3. This improved performance has to do with the size of its particles. Synthetic oil, unlike regular oil, has particles that are formulated to be all the same size, which means that the oil breaks down evenly. 

4. Uneven breakdown of conventional oil leads to a build up of sludge from excessive heat. 

5. But synthetic oil can cost 2 to 4 times as much as regular oil, so if you've got a vehicle thats on its last few oil changes, or one that doesnt typically operate in excessively cold or hot climates, you might be better off sticking with the lower priced conventional oil. 

Which One to use in your Car - Regular Oil or Synthethic Oil

When considering which type of oil to use you're gonna want to ask yourself two different questions

1. What kind of vehicle do you Drive

2.  What kind of driving conditions you driving in

When you're choosing between these two oils you're going to want to check your owner's manual to see if your vehicle actually requires you to use full Synthetic Oil, coz if you don't use full synthetic your manufacturer may actually void your engines warranty.

When it comes to your driving conditions there's generally three scenarios where we'd recommend synthetic oil to our customers.

Benefits of using Synthetic Oil Over Regular Oil

• If you're driving over 20000 miles a year
• If you drive in a commercial setting or if you do a lot of toying with your vehicle 
• If you're in a climate where there's extreme heat or extreme cold.

Those are all great scenarios and good scenarios for you to consider that. 

There's one exception that we would also throw in there is if your vehicle already has a 100000 miles and you haven't been used in synthetic oil we don't recommend that you started at that point because you're actually your vehicle can start using oil and potentially get some oil leaks on the ground.

If you've typically been using conventional oil you normally only get 4 to 6 thousand miles out of an oil change.

If using full Synthetic Oil you can actually double that by going anywhere from 7 to 12 thousand miles which actually makes you spend less time at the automotive repair shop.
